Before Southhampton v Liverpool

Divock Origi is expected to be fit for Liverpool’s meeting with Southampton on Saturday, with Adam Lallana also set to return against his former club. Forward  Origi  suffered cramp during the Reds’ midweek win at West Ham United, while midfielder  Lallana  has missed their last three games due to a virus. Both, though, are likely to be available as the Premier League leaders seek to extend their advantage at the top of the table to 22 points. “Adam trained normally, Divock was cramp,” Jürgen Klopp said, during Friday’s pre-match press conference. “He didn’t train yesterday because it was not a day for him to train. But I heard nothing else so he should be in training today.” James Milner  (muscle) and   Xherdan Shaqiri   (calf) are not yet fit, although Klopp hopes the duo will be in contention for selection again after the Saints clash.  Sadio Mane  (muscle) is unlikely to face Ralph Ha...

Jürgen Klopp was left beaming with pride after watching his Liverpool side be crowned 2019 FIFA Club World Cup champions in Doha on Saturday. The Reds defeated Brazilian side Flamengo 1-0 in the final at Khalifa International Stadium thanks to Roberto Firmino's strike in the first half of extra-time. Read on for a summary of the manager's post-match press conference… On how it feels to be world champions... It's great, really great. We are all kind of all exhausted from a really intense game. We had a few moments in the past when I really struggle to find the right words in not my native language for describing my respect for the boys, how they do it. Divock Origi 'the whole world wanted' is back for Liverpool, says Klopp

Liverpool striker Divock Origi during a friendly against Bradford City. LIVERPOOL MANAGER JURGEN Klopp has said that Divock Origi is like a new signing after the 24-year-old forward signed a new long-term deal at Anfield.  Origi had appeared to be on the outside looking in with the Reds early in the 2018-19 season, not even making the match-day squad until October, but he exploded in the latter stages of the campaign, bagging crucial goals as Liverpool swept to Champions League glory.  The Belgium international scored twice in the semi-final second leg as the Merseyside club won 4-0 to overcome a 3-0 first leg deficit against Barcelona.  He also scored the second goal in the 2-0 final win over Spurs, and those performances were instrumental in seeing Origi sign new terms.  His head coach said it was clear from the striker’s performances in training that he had finally recovered from a serious injury he sustained in 2016, as a result of a p...
