LIVERPOOL 2-1 MONTERREY: Substitute Roberto Firmino scored a stoppage-time winner to put the Reds into the final of the Club World Cup. Liverpool booked their spot in the Club World Cup final after Roberto Firmino's last-gasp goal secured a narrow win over Monterrey. Jurgen Klopp's Reds went ahead in the 11th minute when Mohamed Salah's through ball was guided home by Naby Keita. But Monterrey responded two minutes later, with Rogelio Funes Mori converting from close range after Alisson Becker had parried out a shot. And, with extra-time beckoning, Salah pulled the strings once again by playing in Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose superb cross was poked him by Firmino in injury time. Jürgen Klopp felt his Liverpool side did 'exceptionally well' by booking a place in the FIFA Club World Cup final with a 2-1 victory over Monterrey in Qatar on Wednesday. The Reds set up a meeting with Brazilian outfit Flamengo in Saturday's showpiece after Roberto Firmino's late intervention at the Khalifa International Stadium. The No.9 was introduced to the last-four tie in the 85th minute and converted Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross in injury time to secure the victory in Doha. Naby Keita had given Klopp's side the lead early in the first half before parity was restored two minutes later through Rogelio Funes Mori's equaliser. Roberto Firmino came off the bench to score a last-minute winner as Liverpool booked their place in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup with a 2-1 victory over Monterrey on Wednesday night.
