If they manage to win that fight, the Reds will benefit from increased marketing and distribution opportunities, and cement their status as one of sport's most valuable brands. Waving goodbye to New Balance will represent the end of an era which began with Liverpool toling in the Europa League, but has gone on to see them crowned Champions of Europe for a sixth time.
