Mohamed Salah contender for Champions League Goal of the Week

Mohamed Salah has been nominated for the UEFA Champions League Goal of the Week for heroic goal against Red Bull Salzburg in the final round of the group stages Salah scored in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Red Bull Salzburg to help them reach the Champions League round of 16. The Egypt star doubled the scoring for the Reds after dribbling past the goalkeeper and putting the ball in the back of the net from a very tight angle. Salah is in competition for the weekly recognition along with Olympique Lyonnais’ Houssem Aouar for his goal against RB Leipzig, in addition to Dani Olmo’s goal for Dinamo Zagreb against Manchester City and Felipe’s volley from inside the box for Atletico Madrid against Lokomotiv Moscow. Salah has participated in 21 games across all competitions so far this season, scoring 11 goals and delivering six assists for Liverpool. The Reds have won their Champions League group and are also leading the Premier League table with 46 points, eight points away from their closest rivals Leicester City.
