The big Nike question around Takumi Minamino deal answered after Liverpool's latest moves

Takumi Minamino has been signed to bolster Liverpool's hunt for silverware, but there could also be wider benefits to his arrival from a commercial perspective.
Make no mistake about it, Liverpool are signing Takumi Minamino because he's an exceptionally gifted footballer above all else, and one who Jürgen Klopp clearly feels is ideally suited to the requirements of his team in a technical, tactical and physical sense, as well as having the right attitude and personality to succeed at one of Europe's biggest clubs.
But while Minamino is arriving to enhance Liverpool's prospects of silverware, the ramifications of the signing – which was completed on Thursday – may also stretch well beyond the boundaries of the pitch.

It has been a quick-moving deal, and within minutes of the news breaking about the transfer just a week ago, one of the emerging topics of discussion across social media – aside from the giddy excitement about what he'll bring to the team – was the fact that Minamino would become Liverpool's first ever Asian player (although technically speaking, Israeli Avi Cohen has a case for that title).
