Liverpool are on the verge of signing Red Bull Salzburg's Takumi Minamino in the January transfer window.
The Reds are set to activate the 24-year-old's £7.25 million release clause with the completion of the deal subject to a medical.
Meanwhile Chelsea are expected to have a busy month after their transfer ban was lifted, while a number of high-profile players are out of contract next summer.
Pedro and Olivier Giroud are just two of the stars linked with an early exit from Stamford Bridge, as Frank Lampard targets Nathan Ake and Wilfried Zaha as part of a £150m spree.
Arsenal could also add reinforcements after a shaky start to the season, but their priority remains landing a new manager, with axed Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti's name in the frame.

Rangnick explains why Minamino will suit Liverpool
Ralf Rangnick has outlined why Red Bull Salzburg’s Takumi Minamino will be a hit at Liverpool .
The Japanese star is set to join the Reds in January after Liverpool activated a £7.25 million release clause in his contract.
Jurgen Klopp made his move for the 24-year-old after being impressed over the two matches between the sides in the Champions League.
“You could see he was good on the ball, very technical, good mentality,” Ragnick told Sky Sports . “He is also like many Japanese players, willing to invest in the team’s efforts to win the ball back.
“Of course he had to learn those things tactically, but his willingness and his mentality was already there. He’s not the kind of player to say, ‘OK the other team has got the ball so, please let me know once we have the ball so I then can take part in the game again’.
“Even at the age of 19 you could see he was a good boy.”
