Tony Cascarino has sent Liverpool a warning that the Premier League title race is not over yet, comparing their current lead to Newcastle’s famous title implosion of 1996.
After a dream Christmas, Liverpool are now the overwhelming favourites to win their first league title for 30 years.

After Friday night’s clash at the Molineux, Pep Guardiola appeared to concede defeat in the title race, saying City have no chance of catching Liverpool and are instead now fighting for a top-four spot.
A host of pundits have also tipped the Reds to finally win their first ever Premier League trophy, including Gary Lineker and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
However, Cascarino is trying to keep the Reds stars’ feet on the ground by giving them a timely reminder of when it has gone wrong for title leaders before.
They will probably need no reminder, having surrendered a healthy festive lead last season to lose the title by just one point.
But the talkSPORT pundit says Liverpool’s current lead reminds him of when Kevin Keegan’s Magpies topped the table in 1995/96 after an explosive start, before a run of five defeats in eight games saw them end the campaign four points behind champions Manchester United.
Jürgen Klopp reported no fresh injury concerns ahead of Liverpool's Champions League trip to FC Porto, with Naby Keita set to return.
