Liverpool star Mohamed Salah to be honoured with his own Madame Tussauds wax figure
The talismanic Reds winger will join the likes of the Royal Family and pop star Dua Lipa in being immortalised at the famous London tourist attraction later this year
Mohammed Salah has picked up plenty of accolades since joining Liverpool in 2017 and his latest will see him become a star attraction in London.
The Egyptian won the PFA Player of the Year award in his first season with the Reds, has won the Premier League's Golden Boot in each of the last two seasons and was crowned Africa's best player in both 2017 and 2018.
Adding to that list of personal honours, the 27-year-old will now become the latest sports star to be immortalised in wax by Madame Tussauds in London.
The world-famous tourist attraction is known to feature lookalikes of some of the biggest stars in the world, ranging from the Royal Family to pop star Dua Lipa.
And now the former Chelsea man will join that illustrious list later this year, with the model set to be the first ever wax figure of the Egyptian superstar.
Despite helping Jurgen Klopp's men compete on all fronts this season, the 27-year-old took time out of his busy schedule for his measurements and reference photos to be taken.
"I am so excited to be working with the artists of Madame Tussauds on my first ever figure," said the attacker after the news was announced.
Steve Davies, the general manager at Madame Tussauds London, added: "We’re kicking off 2020 with this announcement which is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for football lovers around the world.
"As Egyptian Forward and currently both European and World Club Champion with Liverpool FC, Mo Salah is a global star at the peak of his power.
"We know that fans will love seeing him at the home of celebrity, where he rightly belongs.”
It is expected Salah will make his debut in the Madame Tussauds line-up later this year.
