Trent Alexander-Arnold refusing to settle as Liverpool star sets out goals for 2020

Trent Alexander-Arnold has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the last 18 months and picked up three trophies in 2019 - now the Liverpool and England star wants more

Trent Alexander-Arnold has a goal for 2020 – to repeat the form of 2019.
Liverpool's scintillating record over the past 12 months has seen them lift the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup and only narrowly miss out on the Premier League title.
Alexander-Arnold believes more silverware will follow if they maintain a record that has seen them average the most points per game in their history and open up a commanding lead at the top of the table.
The Reds are 13 points clear with a game in hand and on course to end their 30-year title wait.
But Alexander-Arnold claims Liverpool still have much work to do and says their focus is on maintaining their great form.
“We have to keep up the momentum and try to replicate 2019 because, if we do that, I think more trophies will come,” replied the England star when asked to outline his targets for 2020.

“With the position we’re in in the Premier League, if we can replicate what we did in the first half of the season then we will be in a solid position come May.”

Liverpool are rewriting the record books this season – their return of 58 points from their first 20 games is their best start to a campaign.

They are also through to the fourth round of the FA Cup after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat of Everton and the last 16 of the Champions League, where they will face Atletico Madrid next month.

Alexander-Arnold, 21, would love to reach a third successive Champions League final and says he is looking forward to the touchline antics of Kop boss Jurgen Klopp and Atletico’s Diego Simeone.
“Hopefully we can get to another Champions League final, but we’ve got a difficult draw,” he said.
“Atletico are a stubborn team, hard to break down, with a passionate manager. It’ll be interesting to see which of the two managers on the touchline is more passionate!
