Liverpool have enjoyed one of the greatest calendar years in their illustrious history – and they plan on making 2020 even more special.
After starting the decade in uncertain times and with Europa League football the best they could hope for, the Reds are now on course to win their first league title since 1989-90.
Of course, Jurgen Klopp’s men have been here before. This time last year they were preparing to face defending champions Man City at the Etihad with a healthy lead at the top of the table.

Slowly but surely, City chipped away to reclaim their crown on the final day of the season at Brighton to render Liverpool’s victory over Wolves null and void.
This time seems different for a number of reasons; the Reds pummelled City in their first meeting of the new season. A 3-1 thrashing at Anfield widened the chasm between the two sides even further.
And the team is now littered with winners and experienced players who know how to deal with pressure in crucial moments of the season.

102 – Victories from 162 games under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. The German reached 100 wins quicker than any other manager in the club’s history.
97 – Points won by Liverpool in the 2018/19 Premier League season, the most without ever actually winning the title. It is the highest ever in the club’s history.

49 – Points from the opening 17 games of the current season is the best by a Liverpool side in top-flight history.

31 – Months since the Reds last lost a game at Anfield, with Crystal Palace’s victory on Merseyside in April 2017 the last defeat.

Jürgen Klopp reported no fresh injury concerns ahead of Liverpool's Champions League trip to FC Porto, with Naby Keita set to return. Midfielder Keita missed Saturday's draw with Brentford due to a foot issue sustained during last week's Carabao Cup victory at Norwich City, but took part in training before Monday's flight to Portugal. That means only Thiago Alcantara and Harvey Elliott are ruled out of the Group B match at Estadio do Dragao on Tuesday night. "A big one, a big squad will travel. We have 23 players with us," Klopp told the media, prior to Monday's session. "Apart from the longer-term injuries, I think they are all in. So, no Thiago, no Harvey, the rest are available… no new concerns in the moment. Hopefully it stays like this Porto's Chancel Mbemba is suspended, while Pepe is a doubt after missing training on Monday. "We will see tomorrow [Tuesday]," coach Sergio Conceicao stated, of the veteran centre-b...
