Liverpool verdict - Watford make mockery of opposition jibes but no mitigation for Jurgen Klopp in defeat

Liverpool lose their unbeaten run with a chastening 3-0 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road
Liverpool defeats have been sighted less than Hallie's Comet in recent times, but this chastening setback was nothing less than they deserved.
This shrill shriek will be the unwanted wake-up call for those dreaming of Liverpool invincibility as a jarring 3-0 loss contrasted with everything that had preceded it in the Premier League since August.
On a deeply disappointing night in Hertfordshire, the Reds carelessly frittered away a 44-game unbeaten run that stretched back to January 2019 as they were comprehensively swept aside by Nigel Pearson's Watford.
After just one reverse in the 65 Premier League games previous, the Reds saw their L tally double over the course of deeply dispiriting 90 minutes here. Make no mistake, this was as poor as it has been for years under Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds manager had no mitigation to point to as he congratulated Pearson's side post match.
