How Jordan Henderson produced a near-perfect replica of an all-time classic Liverpool goal

The second in a new series looking back at the great forgotten Liverpool goals from seasons past.
With the 2019/20 season on pause and no current football to talk about for at least the next few weeks, this new series will look back upon some of the greatest forgotten Liverpool goals from years gone by, what made them so special at the time, and their place in the wider context.
The second entry focuses on Jordan Henderson's strike in the 2-0 win against Burnley at Anfield in March 2015.
The 2014/15 season was one to forget in almost every respect from a Liverpool point of view. Following the heartbreak of missing out on the Premier League title in such agonising fashion in 2013/14, it exposed the extent to which the previous campaign had been built on sand rather than sustainable foundations for long-term success.
That was compounded by a catastrophic summer transfer window which culminated in Liverpool essentially filling the Luis Suárez-shaped void with a combination of Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli, among numerous other ultimately underwhelming acquisitions.

A sixth-place Premier League finish, combined with a shambolic group stage exit upon returning to the Champions League (before immediately crashing out of the Europa League thereafter) and semi-final defeats in both domestic cups, meant there wasn't an awful lot to be cheery about as Brendan Rodgers' tenure unravelled at alarming pace.
